SEO Factors

Keywords in <title>
This is one of the most important places to have a keyword because what is written into the sample <title> in search results as the title of the page. The title tag should be short (6 or 7 words) and the keyword must be near the beginning.

Keywords in URL
Keywords in the URL of great help - for example - Http: / / domainname.com / seo-services.html, where "SEO services" is the key phrase to try to rank well. But if you have keywords in other parts of the document, are based on the URL.

Density of keywords in the text document
Another very important factor you need to check. 7.3% for the main keywords is best, 1-2 for minors. keyword density of more than 10% is suspicious and looks more like keyword stuffing, than a written text, of course.

Keywords anchor text
It is also important, especially for the anchor text of inbound links, because if you have the keyword in the anchor text in a link from another site, this is considered as getting the vote of this site not only about their site in general, but on the particular keyword.

Keywords in headings (<H1>, <H2>, labels, etc)
A place where keywords count a lot. But note that the page has the current text on the particular keyword.

Keywords in the beginning of a document
It also has, although not as much as anchor text, title tag or titles. However, keep in mind that the beginning of a document does not necessarily mean that the first paragraph - for example, if you use tables, the first paragraph of text might be in the second half of the table.

Keywords Alt tag
Spiders do not read images but they do read their textual descriptions in Alt tag, so if you have images on your page, fill out the label <alt> with some words about them.

Keywords in metatags
Increasingly less important, especially for Google. Yahoo and Bing still depend on them, so if you are optimizing for Yahoo or Bing, fill these tags properly. In any case, filling these tags properly will not hurt, so it does.

Keyword proximity
Keyword proximity measures how close the text the keywords are. The best thing is that they are immediately one after the other (for example, "dog food"), no other words between them. For example, if you have "dog" in the first paragraph and "food" in the third paragraph, this also counts, but not so with the phrase "dog food" without any other word in the middle. the proximity of keywords is applicable for keyword phrases that consist of two or more words.

Keyword phrases
In addition to keywords, you can optimize for keyword phrases that consist of several words - eg "SEO Services". The best thing is that the keyword phrases to optimize are the most popular, so you can get a lot of exact matches of the search string, but sometimes it makes sense to optimize the 2 or 3 keywords separately ( "SEO" and "services") that sometimes a phrase that might get an accurate result.

Secondary keywords
Optimization of secondary keywords can be a gold mine because when everybody else is optimizing the most popular keywords, the less competition (and probably more hits) for pages that are optimized for the words of lesser importance. For example, "jersey new real state" could be thousands of times lower than hits "real estate", but only if you are operating in New Jersey, will get less but better targeted traffic.

Keyword derivatives
For English is not so much a factor because the words are derived from the same root (eg, dog, dogs, puppy, etc) are considered related and if you have "dog" on your page, you will get results for "dogs" and "dog" too, but the key words from other languages could be an issue because different words that derive from the same root are considered unrelated and you need to optimize for them.

Synonyms
Optimizing for synonyms of the target keywords in addition to the main keywords. This is good for sites in English, so that search engines are smart enough to use synonyms as well, when ranking sites, but for many other languages synonyms are not taken into account when calculating rankings and relevance.

Keyword mistypes
Spelling errors are very common and if you know your target keywords have popular misspellings or alternative spellings (ie Christmas and Christmas), who might be tempted to optimize for them. Yes, this could have some more traffic, but with spelling mistakes in your site does a good impression, so it is better not to, or do so only in the metatags.

Keyword dilution
When optimizing an excessive amount of keywords, especially those linked, this will affect the performance of all your keywords and even more important will be lost (diluted) in the text.

Keyword stuffing
Any keyword density artificially inflated (10% and more) is keyword stuffing and you risk being banned from search engines.

Anchor text of inbound links
As discussed in the keyword section, this is one of the most important factors for good rankings. It is best if you have a keyword in the anchor text, but even if it is still OK.

Origin of inbound links
Besides the anchor text is important if the site linking to you is a reputable or not. In general, sites with greater Google PR are considered reputable.

Links from similar sites
Having links from similar sites is very, very useful. It suggests that competition is to vote for you and you are popular within their community today.

Links from .Edu and .Gov
These links are invaluable because .Edu and .Gov are most renowned .Com .Biz .Info, etc. domains. Moreover, these links are difficult to obtain.

Number of backlinks
In general, the more the better. But the reputation of the sites you link to is more important than their number. It is also important the anchor text, is there a keyword in it, how old they are, etc.

Anchor text of internal links
This is also important, although not as much as the anchor text of inbound links.

Around-the-anchor text
The text that is immediately before and after the anchor text is also important because it also indicates the importance of the relationship - that is, if the link is artificial or that flows naturally in the text.

Age of inbound links
The older the better. How many new links in a short period of time suggests that they buy.

Links Directory
Great, although much depends directories. Being listed in DMOZ, Yahoo Directory and similar directories is a major boost for classification, but with many professional links PR0 is useless and can even be seen as link spam, if you have hundreds or thousands of links.

Number of outbound links on the page links
Less is better for you because this way their relationship seems more important.

Named anchors
Named anchors (the destination of internal links) are useful for internal navigation but are also useful for SEO, because stress also that a particular page, paragraph or text is important. In the code, named anchors and <A href= "#dogs"> Read about dogs </ A> and "# dogs" is the named anchor.

IP address of inbound link
Google denies that it discriminates against links that come from the same IP address or class C addresses, so Google can be considered neutral IP address to the weight of incoming links. However, Bing and Yahoo may discard links from the same IP or classes of intellectual property, it is always better to get links from different IP addresses.

Inbound links from link farms and other suspicious sites
This does not affect in any way, provided that the links are not reciprocal. The idea is that it is beyond their control to define what a link farm link, which is not penalized when such sites link to you, because this is not their fault, but in any case it is best to keep away from link farms and similar sites suspected.

Many outgoing links
Google does not like pages that consists mainly of links, so it is best to keep them below 100 per page. Having many outgoing links you get no benefit in terms of classification and may even worsen their situation.

Excessive linking, link spamming
It's bad for classification, when you have many links to and from the same locations (though not a crossover regime or links to bad neighbors), it suggests the purchase of spam links at least. In the best cases, only some of the links are taken into account for SEO rankings.

Uplinks for connecting farms and other suspicious sites
Unlike inbound links from link farms and other suspicious sites, outbound links to bad neighbors can drown. You need to periodically check the status of sites that link to sites because sometimes good to be bad neighbors and vice versa.

Cross-linking
Crosslinking occurs when a site links to site B links to site B to C and C links to Site A. This is the simplest example but more complex systems are possible. The crosslinking is seen as disguised trade reciprocal link and punished.

Single pixel links
when you have a link that is a pixel or so large that it is invisible to humans, so no one will click on it and it is obvious that this link is an attempt to manipulate search engines.

Meta Tag <description>
Metatags are becoming less and less important, but if there are metatags that still matter, these are the <description> and <keywords>. Use the meta tag to write <Description> description of your site. Besides the fact that metatags still rock Bing and Yahoo, the meta tag has an advantage <Description> more - sometimes appear in the description of your site in search results.

Meta Tag <keywords>
The meta <keywords> also matters, though, as all metatags gets almost no attention from Google and some of Bing's attention and keep the meta tag Yahoo reasonably long - 10 to 20 keywords maximum. <keywords> Not fill the keyword tags that you are not on the page, this is bad for classification.

Meta Tag <Language>
If your site is language specific, do not leave this tag empty. Search engines are more sophisticated ways to determine the language of a page of relying on the meta tag but still <language> consider.

Meta Tag <Refresh>
The meta tag is a form of <Refresh> redirect visitors to your site to another. Only do so if the site has recently migrated to a new domain and need to temporarily redirect visitors. When used for a long time, the meta <refresh> is considered an unethical practice, and this can hurt your score. In any case, redirect via 301 is much better.

Unique Content
Having more content (relevant content, which is different from content on other sites both in wording and topics) is a real boost for the classification of your site.

The frequency of content change
Frequent changes are favored. It's great when you constantly add new content, but not so great when they are only small updates to existing content.

Keywords font size
When a keyword in the text of the document in a larger font size compared to other text on the page, this makes it more remarkable, therefore, is more important than the rest of the text. The same applies to the items (<h1>, <h2>, etc), which are usually larger font size than the rest of the text.

Keywords format
Bold and italic are another way to emphasize important words and phrases. However, using bold font sizes, italics and larger within reason, because otherwise you could achieve the opposite effect.

Age of document
Recent Documents (or at least regularly updated) are favored.

Filesize
Generally, pages that are not favored, or at least you can achieve a better ranking if you have short pages instead of 1 on a given topic, so divided into several smaller pages 3.

Content separation
From a marketing point of view content separation (based on IP addresses, browser type, etc) can be large, but for SEO is bad because you have a URL and different content, search engines get confused what the actual content of the page.

Poor coding and design
Search engines do not want to say that badly designed and coded sites, although there are few sites that are prohibited by the code messy or unpleasant images, but when the design and / or coding of the site is poor, the site might not be reversible at all, so in this sense code and poor design can hurt you a lot.

Illegal
The use of a copyrighted content of others without their permission or use the content that promotes legal violations can get you kicked out of search engines.

Invisible text
This is a black hat SEO practice and when spiders discover that they have text specially for them, but not humans, do not be surprised by the penalty.

Concealment
Cloaking is another illegal technique, which partially involves content separation because spiders see one page (highly optimized, of course), and all the others presented with another version of the page.

Doorway pages
Creating pages that seek to fool the spiders your site is highly relevant when it is not, is another way to get shot of the search engines.

Duplicate content
When you have the same content on multiple pages on the site, this will not make your site look bigger because the duplicate content penalty kicks in. To a lesser degree duplicate content applies to pages that reside elsewhere, but obviously, these cases are not always forbidden - that is, article directories or mirror sites exist and thrive.

JavaScript
If used wisely, it will not hurt. But if your main content is displayed via JavaScript, this makes it more difficult for spiders to follow and if the JavaScript code is a mess and spiders can not continue, this will definitely affect their grades.

Images in the text
Having a text-only site is so boring, but with many images and no text is a sin SEO. Always on the label <alt> offer a meaningful description of an image but not the stuff with keywords or irrelevant information.

Podcasts and videos
Podcasts and videos are becoming more and more popular, but as with all the extra non-textual search engines can not read, so if you do not have tapescript podcast or video, it's like the podcast or movies ¿ is not because it will not be indexed by search engines.

Images instead of text links
Using images instead of text links is bad, especially when the label is not complete <alt>. But even if you fill in the label <alt> is not the same as having a bold, underline, 16 pt. link, to use images for navigation only if it is really vital for the graphic design of your site.

Marcos
The frames are very, very bad for SEO. Avoid unless you really needed.

Flash
Spiders do not index the content of Flash movies, so if you use Flash on your site, do not forget to give an alternative textual description.

A home page Flash
Fortunately this disease epidemic seems to have come to an end. Having a Flash home page (and sometimes whole sections of your site) and no version of HTML, SEO is suicide.

Keyword rich URLs and filenames
A very important factor, particularly for Yahoo and Bing.

Site Accessibility
Another key issue that is often neglected. If the site (or separate pages) is inaccessible due to broken links, 404 errors, password-protected areas and other similar reasons, the site simply can not be indexed.

Site Map
It's great to have a complete and updated map, the spiders that love, whether it is a map of the plain old HTML format or Google's special site.

Site size
Spiders love large sites, generally the bigger the better. However, larger sites become user-unfriendly and difficult to navigate, so sometimes it makes sense to separate a large room in a couple of smaller ones. On the other hand, there are hardly sites that are penalized because they are more than 10,000 pages, so do not divide the size of the pieces just because it is becoming bigger and bigger.

Old site
Like wine, older sites are more respected. The idea is that an ancient site, whose registered office is more trustworthy (that have existed and are here to stay) for a new site that just poped and could soon disappear.

Site theme
It is not only keywords in URL and page counts. The theme of the site is even more important for the classification of good, because when the site is consistent with a theme, it increases the classification of all pages that are related to this issue.

Location of files on the site
File Location is important and files that are in the root directory or near it tend to rank better than the files that are buried below 5 or more levels.

Domains compared with subdomains, separate domains
Having a separate domain is better - that is, instead of having site.blogspot.com, register a separate site.com.

Top Level Domains (TLD)
Not all top-level domains are equal. There are top-level domains that are better than others. For example, the most popular TLD -. Com - is much better than it was, biz, or domains of information, but (all the same) there's nothing like an old org education or ......

Dashes in URLs
Hyphens between words in an increase readability and help address the SEO rankings. This applies to the scripts in domain names and the rest of the URL.

URL length
In general, it does not matter, but if it is a long URL-s, it starts to look like spam, so avoid having more than 10 words in the URL (3 or 4 for your own domain name and 6 or 7 for the rest of the address is acceptable).

IP Address
Could the matter only for shared hosting or when a site is hosted on a free hosting provider, when the IP or the entire class C IP address is blacklisted for spam or other illegal practices.

Adsense enhance your ranking
Adsense is not related in any way to SEO ranking. Google does not definitely give a bond rating due to host Adsense ads. Adsense can increase their income, but this has nothing to do with search rankings.

Increase your Adwords ranking
Like Adsense, Adwords has nothing to do with your search rankings. Adwords will bring more traffic to your site, but will not affect your ranking, in any form.

Accommodation downtime
downtime housing is directly related to accessibility and that if a site is often down, can not be indexed. But in practice it is a factor only if your hosting provider is reliable and has less than 97 to 98% uptime.

Dynamic URL
Spiders prefer static URLs, but you can see many dynamic pages on top positions. Dynamic long URL (more than 100 characters) are very bad and in any case it is better to use a tool to rewrite dynamic URLs into something more human and SEO-friendly.

Session Identifiers
This is even worse than dynamic URLs. Do not use session IDs of information you want to be indexed by spiders.

Bans in robots.txt
If indexing of a considerable portion of the site is prohibited, this is likely to affect the nonbanned because spiders will come less frequently to a "noindex" site.

Redirects (301 and 302)
When applied properly, redirects can hurt a lot - the landing page can not be opened, or worse - a redirect can be considered a black hat technique, when the visitor is immediately taken to a different page.
